NO FEAR HERE!

Friday, October 30, 2009

Though a day early, in preparation for All Hallows Even I want to share some approriately eerie music and lyrics (check this LINK to see the history and origin of this day, which speaks to my Scot-Irish, Gaelic-Celtic roots) And who better than Blue Oyster Cult to paint such haunting visions, as well as one "killer" Doobie Brothers' cut to go hand-in-hand with the spirit of the occasion.

I do this strictly in fun, but, I can't help but think on the adventuresome life I've lived, the dusty roads I've traveled and all the bullets and daggers of misfortune I've either been lucky enough to dodge and avoid, or have been blessed to not be touched by. Yes, I truly have "cheated the hangman many times before", as well as having stayed out of the clutches of Ye Olde Reaper. I've often wondered about my luck, but I wonder no more because in the last 8-months I've discovered the reason I'm still around. I was meant to be here for there's an Anghel who has been patiently waiting for the moment our paths would finally cross. And from the second our paths did meet, we have journeyed onward together as it was meant to be. In words she shared, I found the answer to not only my still being, but to my destiny: "Do you know why God keeps on extending your life up to this far? It's not because you need it, but because someone else needs you." 'Nuff said; that says it all; and shows that luck had nothing at all to do with anything for I truly have been blessed.

But enough of being serious, as well as a wee bit cheesy...(",) 'Tis a fun time ahead as we enjoy those things that go bump in the dark and dead of night. And I do hope that these songs add to your pleasure. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Don't Fear the Reaper "

"Harvest Moon"
This place has a history
The Spaniards settled here
They burned the town and fields
They moved away from here
My grandma often told me
She knew it peaceful here
The war took all the vigor
War took the best from here
Ahh ahh ahh ahh When the wind turns
Ahh ahh ahh ahh And blows the leaves from the trees
Ahh ahh ahh ahh-Harvest moon
I see the days grow shorter
I feel the nights grow cold-Harvest moon,
Young people feelin' restless
Old people feelin' old-Harvest moon
I sense the darkness clearer
I feel a presence here-Harvest moon,
A change in the weather
I love this time of year-Harvest moon
The Cobys worked that valley
They gave that land a go
They built a thriving business
Then came that early snow
They lost their livestock that year
They lost their sheep and goats
They sold the farm in springtime
Went south to work the boats
Ahh ahh ahh ahh When the wind turns
Ahh ahh ahh ahh And blows the leaves from the trees
Ahh ahh ahh ahh-Harvest moon
I see the days grow shorter
I feel the nights grow cold-Harvest moon
Young people feelin' restless
Old people feelin' old-Harvest moon
I sense the darkness clearer
I feel a presence here-Harvest moon
A change in the weather
I love this time of year-Harvest moon
Ten years in this farmhouse
Ten years come this May
My simple needs are covered
Since grandma passed away
Long time since there's been trouble
That's what the people say
I told the new man when I
Sold the farm today
Ahh ahh ahh ahh When the wind turns
Ahh ahh ahh ahh And blows the leaves from the trees
Ahh ahh ahh ahh-Harvest moon
I sense the darkness clearer
I feel a presence here, Harvest moon
A change in the weather
I feel some evil here-Harvest moon
I hear some frightful noises
I don't go out at night-Harvest moon
Since Bobrow's youngest daughter
Disappeared from sight-Harvest moon
I know they'll find her some day
They find them all that way-Harvest moon
After the thaw in springtime
The snow melts away-Harvest moon
I see the days grow shorter
I feel the nights grow cold-Harvest moon
Young people feelin' restless
Old people feelin' old, Harvest moon

"I Cheat the Hangman"
The days grow short
the nights are gone
Since you were here
I can't go on
I cried for you
to no avail
Now my life runs cold
when the night winds wail
But I cheat the hangman
(cheated him many times before)
The bell that tolls the hour
has turned sweet lips to sour
Yes I cheat the hangman
(and even when life has flown away)
I leave a kiss behind
The rain that fell
upon my stone
Like tears you cry
I shared alone
I walk the night
I cannot sleep
The love you spend
you cannot reap
But I cheat the hangman
(cheated him many times before)
The bell that tolls the hour
has turned sweet lips to sour
Yes I cheat the hangman
(and even when life has flown away)
I leave a kiss behind
the glow of love will shine
Lighted windows stare
at the lonely stranger
there returning home
Only lighted windows stare
at the lonely stranger
there returning home
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo
I leave a kiss behind
the glow of love will shine
Lighted windows stare
at the lonely stranger there
returning home
Only lighted windows stare
at the lonely stranger there
returning home
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo

The Promise

Joy and happiness... this is what this card brings and I can't thank my BA enough for making me feel so loved all the time. Today is our special day and though we're celebrating it apart, like we always do except two months ago, he always sees to it to make this day extra special.

Thank you so much for this wonderful and heart-warming card, Honey. And yes, I will hold on to that promise. Mwah!

"An Anghel's Light"... Poem for Me and Only Me

Saturday, October 17, 2009
This was supposed to be for my eyes only as what I've said in my previous post. Fearing that some copycat might get interested in it, that was the reason why I decided not to put it here. But the poem is just so beautiful for people not to see. And this poem tells how great my BA's love is and we both wanted the world to know that. So here it is... the poem my BA had written especially for me. A well written and well versed poem, full of love and emotion....

"An Anghel's Light"

For Lynndee
February 25, 2009; Always Remember

I’ve lived my life in a dream
Hiding from the fears
Never reaching out or touching
Running from my tears

The years went by and I built a wall
To hide myself behind
Fighting battles and enemies
I had invented in my mind

But then one day a vision
Came out of the blue
A dream within my dream,
And that dream was you

My hand reached out to touch,
And suddenly I could feel
A warmth fill my entire being
It was no vision-you were real

How did your lovely image
So bright and crystal clear
Break into my fortress
To come so close so near

It was your laughing smiling face
That drove away my frown
And when I looked into your sparkling eyes
My walls came tumbling down.

Then you took my hand and led me
From the darkness to the light
Bringing a galaxy of moonbeams
To open up my sight.

And then one night we ran away
And danced among the stars
My spirit finally set free
No longer behind bars

Where did you come from silver Anghel
Why did you take so long
To come into my lonely world
And fill my heart with song

You must be a Venus
The summit of love’s soul
You took what was a half
And turned it into a whole

An empty heart, a lonely man
Turned into a king
If only all the world could feel
The happiness you bring

Thank you lovely Anghel
For being who you are
I will always see your vision
When I wish and dream upon a star.

A Poem Especially Written For Me

Wednesday, October 7, 2009
What would you feel if a poem will be written especially for you? I've never imagined that I would get to experience such a very special gesture. Yes, that poem there typed on a sheet of pink paper was made especially for me. When I found out about it, I simply could not believe it. The feeling was really overwhelming. But before I was able to read it, I got to listen to it first. It was recorded on that cassette tape below by no less than my Big Angel, Gyrene. Isn't that super duper special? I was in cloud 9 that day. (",)

To tell you, the first time I read his first email, I already believed that he's born a poet and I even called his email "poetic emails" because of that. He's what I consider a "deep" man and he always share his thoughts and feelings articulately with words that only poets use. You can really feel his love and care just by only reading his emails and letters that's why he never failed to make my day. And now this... a poem written from the heart which was entitled "An Anghel's Light."

As much as I would want to share the poem here but I prefer not to. We all know that there are a lot of copycats out there looking for another victim, and with this greatly written poem, it's not impossible that this will be copied too. This poem was written for me and I think it won't hurt anyone if this will remain for my eyes only - aside from my Big Angel of course - and I do hope you understand.

So here's the poem... "An Anghel's Light"

And the cassette tape where he recorded the poem himself plus songs of love that also tell his feelings toward me, his little angel. So sweet!
