He Needed A Yummy for His Tummy

Monday, May 31, 2010
It was around 9 o’clock in the morning yesterday when I thought of my fiancé all of a sudden. I was thinking that maybe he’s already in bed because more often than not, he goes straight to bed after we talk at 8 o’clock his evening on the other side of the world. But even though I figured he was asleep, I still sent him an SMS asking if he was still up and knowing him, he’ll always give me a call ASAP unless he’s already snoring.

I was surprised to learn though that he was out grocery shopping at 9 o’clock in the evening when he called me right away. And no, he wasn’t shopping for a wrinkle filler as he's threatened to do since I'm always teasing him about the wrinkles showing up on his face. LOL. And, yes, I am just teasing, Honey! The only cream he wanted was ice cream because his night is not complete without it. Imagine that! So he had to go for that ice cream so he could have his bedtime dessert. Funny, Honey! But I can't wait until I'm there to share that goodnight treat. (",)

He Wonders Where the Time Has Went

My fiancé attended his elementary school’s alumni reunion on Saturday, seeing and meeting with classmates he hasn't seen in over 40 years, and he happily shared with me everything that happened that day, other than the pictures he took. He has yet to share them with me because he hasn’t had time to download them to his PC yet. But he will for sure, including all the yummy food he got to enjoy.

I don't know that they had foods to burn fat but that's not a concern of my fiancé since he's in such good shape. But he has gotten my habit – taking pictures of foods at any gathering he goes to. I’ve asked him to take photos of the foods and being the good boy that he is, he willingly obliges. I can’t wait to see the photos and I’ll share them with you here soon. Promise! (“,)

Decisions, Decisions

Sunday, May 30, 2010
In two weeks’ time, my fiancé will be renewing his car insurance policy once again. He’s still contemplating on whether to get insurance from the same company or if he will search for a more affordable one. He already has checked for cheap car insurance quotes but hasn’t decided which way to go, yet. He can be indecisive at times but the good thing is, when he does decide, it is always has a good outcome. So, I’ll leave that to him. He knows better than I do when it comes to things like that. We're Still Kids at Heart. Isn't Love Great?

Saturday, May 29, 2010
Last night’s conversation with my fiancé was another one of those playful conversations that we often have. We sometimes act like kids, even on Skype, and we can’t help it. We’re having fun doing it and, besides, laughter is the best medicine right?

You might think we talk serious all the time. Nah! Well, yeah, we do sometimes, especially if we talk about fitness and health, about our families, about our dreams, and even about those diet pills that have been a hit to people we know, such as my mom, like Lipofuze. Yeah, we talk about everything under the sun. Suffice it to say, distance is not a hindrance between us! Beat that! (“,)

My Lean and Mean Man

My fiancé has always been thin, but not the kind of thin you'd call skinny. He is lean and I sometimes kid him that he’s lean and mean. That's the type of build that I really like on a man. If you see him from afar you would really think that he’s thin, but under the shirt he is wearing is a tight, lean build that has muscles brought on by his rigorous exercise during his teenage and early adult years.

So, in short, he won’t ever be needing diet supplements. I would really love to see him gain some weight, but just a little though. And maybe once we're together, I'll be able to fatten him up with my cooking and by seeing that he eats regular meals. Hehe.

Go Away Ac-ne-ay!

Friday, May 28, 2010
I always suffer from acne during my monthly period but I still consider myself lucky because more often than not, there will only be like two to three spots that pop up on my face. They are painful but at least I don’t have them every day, unlike other people who really need treatment like Acneticin to get rid of the annoyance.

A couple of days ago was the last time that I saw any. I pricked at it which I shouldn’t be doing but I just couldn’t help it. It’s not only painful but itchy too. My fiancé was worried it might get irritated but good thing it didn’t. I always do that whenever I have acne but nothing happened. Lucky me, huh?

He'll Take Care of Us "Always"

Thursday, May 27, 2010
Before, I used to think of mine and my son’s future with anxiety and a little fear. Negative thoughts haunted me like, will I be able to raise my son alone and will the both of us be able to make it through the dusty roads life has to offer? Yes, those thoughts did haunt and scare me.

But my perception changed after I met my fiancé. He’s been very supportive from the start and I know our future will be bright and happy. And knowing him to be very organized with everything in his life, I know I have nothing to fear. He’s the type who looks to the future and makes preparations. And that’s why he has a senior life insurance policy as well as other important insurance because he knows how essential it is and he doesn't want to leave any worries behind for his loved ones. Isn't that admirable?

A Taste of Jersey in My Own Back Yard

Sunday, May 23, 2010
There's nothing better than a sub sandwich, and in my opinion, I've discovered the best one this side of Jersey, if not in the whole world! Well.....that may be a bit of an overstatement since I've not traveled the entire Earth, but I've certainly found the best sub sandwich in my own hometown.

The first time I ever tasted such a treat was in 1995 when I made my first ever trip to New York City. I went with a friend who was born and raised there and drove a cab for over 20 years before he relocated to my area. Needless to say, as a native New Yorker, he knew all the tricks and I got to see the city in ways that went beyond the usual boring tourist routine. But one of the greatest things about the Big Apple is the food. And during the ten days we were there, I got to sample many different cusines from around the world, having many exquisite and elegant dinners. But for lunch each day, it was simple: subs and beer. No matter where we were, in any of the city's boroughs, or across the Hudson River in New Jersey, all you we had to do is walk in any convienence store or market and get a sub made to order. I'd never had anything like it before, and I feel in love with them, and one of my greatest regrets in having to come home was no more subs.

Now, however, things have changed in my area with the arrival a few years ago of a wonderful franchise: Jersey Mikes. There, you can get the real deal, the real thing. The first store called Mike's Subs was a mom and pop operation on the seashore in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, opened in 1956, and eventually bought by a 17 year old employee in 1975. And he has turned it into a nationwide operation of over 450 stores.

My own personal favorite is #13 on the menu, The Original Italian with Provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni, made Mike's Way with onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar and spices, which includes basil as well a good old salt and pepper. And I always get a giant one, a 13 inch monster which not only feeds me my dinner but leaves some left over to carry to work the next day. The best thing of all is that I no longer have to drive 700 miles to get a real sub sandwich since the closest store to me is only five minutes away. And since it's almost time for my supper, I think you know where I'm headed right now. So, see ya, bye ya, and watch out #13, here I come!

#13: My pièce de ré·sis·tance

Be Careful and Be Aware

Monday, May 17, 2010
I know a lot of people who are now using a lot of their credit because of the hardships life has brought them, and I am not an exception. I don’t see a problem with it, though, as long as one stays within their limitations. However, not all are vigilant enough to keep track of their expenses which has trapped them in a dilemma of never-ending debt. If you are one of them, you might want to get your free credit score. In that way, you would know how you’re doing in managing your finances. Not only that, it’s also a great tool in protecting you from identity theft, making you aware of any suspicious activity on your credit card accounts. That is perhaps the last thing anyone would want to experience.

Just last week, my fiancés officemate was a victim of identity theft. Fortunately, he was able to take care of it immediately but that's not always the case. And I'm so happy that my fiancé stays on top of his finances and keeps a constant check on his credit score because when we tie the proverbial knot, I sure don't want us to be tied up in knots of financial chaos. So be careful and you too stay on top of things. You may take a look and visit FreeCreditScore.com for more information.

Big Boys Love to Play with their Toys

Saturday, May 15, 2010
Accessories never fail to beautify things when used properly. It could be a human being, a house, a room or, and especially, those big boy’s toys – cars. I can still remember the transformation such accessories made to dad’s newly bought pick-up truck a couple of years ago. It already looked fine the way it was the first time I saw it but I never realized how much much better it would look with the accessories he added.

The new bars on the back made it look like a tough vehicle and the new dash kit made it look classy. The new rims made it look sporty and the bars on the front bumper made it look indestructible. By the time he got finished it looked dashing. I have no idea what it cost dad to spruce it up the way he wanted it but it was really worth it because he now has a toy that all his buddies want to play with.

Nighty Night...

...don't let the bed bugs bite! That's what I wished my fiance' before he went to bed. Well, technically not really for he's probably in bed already when I posted the phrase on his Facebook wall. I don't know if he checked Facebook again after he had his din din or before he hit the sack. Maybe he didn't because if he did, he'd probably replied on my post but nada.

No biggy for me though. I just wanted to put it there so badly. I haven't done that in a while and I kind of missed being mushy again. I know some of our friends on Facebook were sick of us being so mushy before which happened almost everyday so we kind of slowed down a bit because we don't want them to get sick because of us. LOL. I know some finds it amusing but some finds it cheesy, I guess! Well, what can I say? People who are in love can really be cheesy! Am I not right? To those who can relate... high five! Hehe!

Kick the Habit, Don't Let it Kick You

Friday, May 14, 2010
How many people have you known that have lost their life because of being addicted to prohibited drugs? That is really sad to know especially if the person who’s been dragged into such still has a good life ahead of them. But we do know that their families are greatly affected too which makes the idea even more sad.

Fortunately, there are companies and individuals who are willing to help anyone who’s caught up in the addition trap. Is anybody you know is going through an addiction to opiates? Then you may as well lend a helping hand and inform them about rapid detox for opiates. It is perhaps the easiest way since the person can receive life-changing help in a matter of short time. We don’t want to see a life wasted, so let us help our friends and loved ones in any way we possibly can.

Soon, Honey, I'll Have A Surprise for You!

Thursday, May 13, 2010
I was able to once again visit the mall yesterday with my son. I wouldn’t have gone if not for my godson who’s celebrating his first birthday today. I bought him a gift and Yogi bought a set of toys for him. Malling is never complete for my son without him buying a toy or toys.

Anyway, we arrived there at around noon time and were welcomed by all the cool, modern, hi-tech gadgets and electronics galore at their atrium. Gladly, the mall wasn’t jam-packed so we were able to browse through those gadgets one by one. I thought about my fiancé upon seeing the wide LCD television because it has always been my plan to give him one when we're finally together. It was expensive but it’s not a surprise to me since such gadgets can really be costly. But I know I can get one a reasonable price on a Cyber Monday so I’ll just wait for that day so I can get a good deal. So, watch out for me! LOL.

Another Day in Paradise

Wednesday, May 12, 2010
The phrase that my fiance' always uses whenever there were a lot of work that he has accomplished at his workplace. He makes use of the word "Tigers" too to describe those tasks that needs to be done. I think that's one way of making things a little easier for him. Though he's serious with his job, but to make things lighter, he makes fun of his tasks sometimes which I believe is good because I noticed that even though how tired he was from his day's duties, still he manages to be the same jolly person that he is. Not making fun in the sense that he's not doing his tasks the right way but in a way that he's enjoying what he's doing and having fun at it and not taking things too seriously to the point that it will make him grouchy at the end of the day. Simply admirable, isn't it?

And that's just one of the many traits that I like about him. He's such a hardworking man yet he never lets his work affect his mood in any way unlike me. LOL. Stay that way, Honey! Hugs!

All in a Day's Work

The day has been gloomy once again which makes me feel lazy, and if not for the vitamin that I took, I would have been lazy, taken a nap and neglected my never-ending chores. The gloomy and cool weather definitely is very conducive for sleeping and I do believe I’m not the only one who can relate to that. Admit it! Hehe.

But I am being a good girl today and have accomplished many missions already. I’m already done cleaning the living room and my bedroom. Next stop will be the dining area and the kitchen. I opted to rest for a while first and do some blabbing here. Doing this relaxes me, but I guess I best not get too relaxed so, that being said, maybe I should go continue my duties. See ya later, guys! (",)

A Midnight Mystery

I didn’t have a good night's sleep last night. I was awakened in the middle of the night feeling an intolerable itch on my left foot near the ankle. I thought I had just been bitten by a mosquito but when I looked at the area there was no bump or redness so I was clueless as to what it could be.

My fiancé thought it might be eczema or something like that. Well, he’s wrong about that because the itch was gone after I put alcohol on it. I’m just so glad to know that I won't be needing an eczema treatment. Whatever it was, it's gone. And to that I say GOOD RIDDANCE!

My Honey's Brunch Plate

Tuesday, May 11, 2010
This is my fiancés plate during the Mother’s Day celebration they had at his daughter’s place. The food really made me drool. He had scrambled eggs, link sausage and grits, the white stuff, something I've never even heard of, much less tasted. And the bread is a rosemary and olive oil bagel which he assures me is totally yummy, and he's promised me that he will buy me one as soon as I get there in the good ol' US of A. Then, too, he had a helping of cantaloupe melon, which is one of my favs. He so loves the food here in the Philippines, but as he's so often told me, he can't wait to introduce me to what he calls that good ol' southern, mountain cooking, and I too can hardly wait.

Anyway, can you see how full his plate was? And that was just his first one. If my fiancé continues to eat like that, there’s no doubt he’ll gain weight and will probably be needing apidexin in due time. No problem though, for as long as he's not overweight or obese. I want him to gain some weight, but not much. But I do wonder if he’ll ever will because he’s always been skinny and thin. We’ll see what happens after I start cooking for him.

Though Older, He Still Has the Body of A Young Man

I was browsing the pictures on Facebook taken during my fiancés 16-day vacation here in my country when I remembered what my cousin said to me. She never got to meet my fiancé while he was here but she was awed by his body build when she saw the photos. He’s lean and has a flat tummy unlike her husband who has a bulging tummy. Her husband is in the U.S. navy, yet his tummy shows no sign of being subjected to any type of physical regimen.

My fiancé has been into exercise all his life, though he doesn’t do rigid exercises as he once did. Still, he sees to it that he gets his share of exercise like using a dip bar or sometimes just jogging around the neighborhood. He probably looks thin in the pictures but he’s not thin, but lean, or as he likes to say, "Lean and mean" and the muscles he has is all the proof needed; just the way I like my man. (",)

Special Mother's Day Greetings

As always, he never forgets...

Here's the e-card that he sent me on Mother's Day and it came with a very sweet and very touching note that I would like to share with you all. You can find it below. (",)

Li’l Cutie Anghel Mommy Lynndee,

And you are the one who has filled my life with blossoms of pure happiness, which I hope to return to you and become the daddy by your side as you continue your journey of being the beautiful and wondeful mother you are. You truly are an Anghel, not only to me but to your li'l cherub and everyone else whose life you touch. I love you, Lynndee, and it will be my honor and blessing for us to be a family united in respect and love.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ANGHEL!

Daddy Harry

An Early Bird Delivery

Monday, May 10, 2010
I was engrossed talking to my fiancé on Skype when the doorbell rang. I was kind of wondering who it was since it’s way too early in the morning for visitors. My mom’s neighbor friends do visit us as early as 6 o’clock but they don’t bother to ring the doorbell. They just yell out and call mom by her name, so that’s why I wondered who it was. I went and looked through the peephole and saw this young man standing at the gate in front of our home office. His face was not familiar so I went outside and asked what he wanted. He handed me a white envelope that was definitely familiar to me; it was our internet bill.

I smiled and asked if he was new at the company and he said yes. I hadn’t seen him before and I asked him why he came so early in the morning, and he told me that he had lots of bills to deliver all across the city so he started early so he’d get done before sundown. 'Twas a very hardworking, as well as smart, young man! Keep up the good work!

A Sense of Security

Sunday, May 9, 2010
Insurance is definitely a must have nowadays and it was mine and my fiancés topic today. He is covered with all kinds of insurance, from health to dental to eyes, and of course home and car. Plus, he also has disability insurance provided by his job which he augments with a small weekly payment from his paycheck, a just-in-case protection, though he is still tough and good to go. But, still, he's getting no younger (sorry Honey) and it's good to be prepared, just in case. And it's better to be covered rather than face a future dilemma of being laid up sick or injured with no money coming in to pay the bills.

That makes me feel good, and safe, knowing that he not only has looked into protecting his future, but the future that we will soon be sharing. Thanks, Honey. (",)

Happy Mother's Day, Mama June!

Saturday, May 8, 2010
This year's celebration of mother's day will be the first mother's day that my fiance' will not be able to celebrate with his mom. It is sad but life is like that. His mom passed away last month and mother's day will never be the same for him anymore. But life has to go on. He is planning to bring flowers to his mom's grave today. Yes, she will still have flowers but the difference is, she will not be able to smell the scents of those flowers anymore. But she is happy where she is now. Nevertheless, I still want to greet her...

Dreams of the Big Screen

He’s totally aware about the home theater seating that I plan on putting up when I am there at his place – the place that will then be our true home sweet home. I'm referring to my fiancé who isn’t really a couch potato, and we get along on that idea for I’m not a cough potato myself. He prefers to read and I prefer to browse the net. But there are definitely shows that we want to watch – baseball and basketball for him and lifestyle network for me, not to forget the must-see movies. You may also include my son who is so into cartoon channels. And what better way to watch those shows than in a perfect set-up of a home theater setting. I really love the idea and I can’t wait to make it happen.

In Search of...

Friday, May 7, 2010
...a new layout for this blog. As of late, my days on the net have been spent searching, for My fiancé wanted something that would fit the title but, unfortunately, my search has led to naught. I did find one before which perfectly fit the blog’s title but it began having problems within the first few days that we used it. The header wouldn’t load and was just blank. I changed it then and found the layout previous to this one. So this one is the third. I like its simplicity but, still, my fiancé wants something better. So, I searched again today and I found one, and the picture below is its header.

Isn’t it nice? We both like it so much. The problem is, the layout is in XML and I don’t have the slightest idea how to install it. I read the instructions and tried it once but nada happened. Oh well! I was thinking of asking for help from a friend but that will have to wait. I need to check on business insurance first for our family business. See, I’ve almost forgot about that task because of this itch for a new layout. Glad I remembered ‘cause if not, I’d probably find my wanted layout but get yakked at for forgetting my duty in re the insurance, and I sure don't want, or need, that. Hehe.

It's Out There Somewhere, and Dad Will Find It

Thursday, May 6, 2010
Our car has been a part of the family for five years now and if you saw it, you would certainly say that it's in dire need of replacement. It’s definitely old and even though it was repainted a few months ago, it still can’t be denied that the car has seen its better days.

Dad has been contemplating buying a new one and has had his eye on cars for sale, but not a brand-new one for it’s beyond his budget at the moment. He has always preferred used cars – those that are still in good shape and that have been properly maintained by the previous owner because one definitely can save by going that route, compared to buying a new vehicle.

Used car sales lots are located all over our city and I don’t have any idea which ones he has checked. But he’ll for sure tell us once he sees the one that he likes and fits his needs and budget best. We all can’t wait for that moment, but as for now we will just have to wait because we truly know for certain that he’ll break the news when he's good and ready to, most likely by driving into the driveway with his new toy and jumping out and saying, "Hey, look what I found! That's my Dad: sneaky, sneaky and full of surprises which is why we love him so much. (",)

Pineapple Fields of Dole

Sunday, May 2, 2010
As far as your eyes can see, you will see nothing else but pineapples. That's how vast the plantation of Dole is in Polomolok, South Cotabato, Philippines. It is definitely a sight to behold and my fiance' or whom I call BA was amazed because it was his first time to have seen such. He took these pictures himself on our way home from my cousin Marc's farm. My cousin definitely knew that he will be fascinated that's why he brought him there. That was such a nice idea from my cousin. I never thought of it myself. Hehe.

Pineapples everywhere!

And more and more pineapples!

Your Day is Near, Moms and Dads!

Saturday, May 1, 2010
Everybody’s gearing up for Mother’s Day and by next month, everybody will be preparing for Father’s Day too. Talking about that makes me think of what to get my fiancé on his special day. Maybe another personalized gift like what I usually choose to give. I like to add a dose of the personal touch which makes a gift special.

A special day deserves a special gift, and a gift that is given with a little extra thought and effort is definitely the best one to give. Agree or disagree? I already have something in mind and for sure he's going to really love it. Now, I just wonder what he has in store for me?

Dreams, and Dream Homes, Do Come True

If there’s one career that I would like to get into in the future among the many careers there are, it would a career like those of the hosts of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition which is aired on ABC. I love what they do – designing the house, furnishing it and transforming an old house into a brand-new dream house. I’ve always dreamed of becoming an interior designer and the transformations they make are simply amazing. I've actually got ideas in the episodes that I’ve seen for our home and I'm certain I'll be getting more in future episodes. That’s why I always make it a point to see each episode. I can hardly wait to see the next home makeover.

Second Set: Twilight Saga

Here's the second set of books that my fiance' sent me. You might wonder why there were only two when in fact the Twilight Saga is composed of four series. Well, I already saw the movie Twilight on DVD before he thought of sending me the books so I told him not to send me the first book. In regard to the second book, my brother borrowed one from a friend and he lent it to me after he was done reading. That was actually after reading New Moon that gave me eagerness and the itch to finish reading the saga. And thanks to my fiance' for he has granted me that wish. (",)

Eclipse and Breaking Dawn
