He's A Good Daddy To His Li'l Girl

Wednesday, June 30, 2010
My fiancé and I were supposed to be talking earlier but he’s still out with his daughter having dinner. I don’t know exactly where because he didn’t elaborate. And most probably, they will go shopping afterwards because his daughter will be moving this weekend and she will be needing stuff to fill her apartment, including scales, I guess, because she’s known to being figure conscious. Hehe.

He already sent me an SMS and I’ve been waiting for him for like 30 minutes now. They both must be really engrossed. It’s okay, though; I will just play on the PC while waiting for him so I will not doze off because I probably would since it’s raining and cool here which is very conducive for sleeping. (“,)

She's Not Only My Friend, but My Mentor

Friday, June 25, 2010
A friend of mine who introduced me to blogging two years ago contacted me the other day to ask me if I wanted to have more blogs to be hosted by her. She is the one who introduced me to web hosting and its importance and benefits to one’s website even if it’s only a personal blog, like mine. She started her “small-time” (as what she calls it) web hosting services just a few months ago and I really admire her enthusiasm in that field. We both started as naïve bloggers but she went beyond the pale and is now big time in her efforts.

Therefore, not much to my surprise, she’s now an expert in it and that’s because of her research, reading and understanding everything about her field. She loves what she’s doing and I really admire her determination to learn everything. Before I know it, her name will be among those included in the best web hosting awards. That’s not far from the possible rewards that await her. The services she offers could be considered small ones as compared to those “big-time” web hosting companies but, nevertheless, I've had no problems with her services from the start. I have three blogs that she hosts and so far, so good.

Way to go, girl! Keep up the good work!

16 Months and Counting

Sixteen months ago today when we set our eyes on each other. Well, not literally for we only met online. Hehe. But you know what I mean. And yesterday this e-card was waiting for me in my inbox with a sweet note that was attached to it. My fiance' and I are miles apart but thanks heaven for e-cards and we both see to it that each of us gets one during special occasions such as yesterday. He's always been sweet and this e-card says it all. Stay sweet, Honey Bunny! Mwah!

Searching For the Best

Thursday, June 24, 2010
In a few more days the family will need to renew our business’ insurance once again. It can be a daunting task since we've been thinking of seeking a new provider and not renewing with our previous company. We are contemplating making use of a Massachusetts business insurance company located in Franklin, Massachusetts and we’ve had our eye on Berry Insurance agency.

Things are yet to be determined since we still have a few more weeks to finalize our decision. And if everything goes well then we may consider a Massachusetts auto insurance policy too since the car’s insurance will soon need a renewal, as well as a Massachusetts home insurance policy to replace our current coverage which will soon expire.

Preparing the documents needed can be tiring but the good thing is, we have contacts who aid us in our search and application for the best bargains and coverage and they will help us find the one that will give us the best service for our needs.

The Man that He Is

This e-card that I sent my fiance' on the special day for the dads perfectly fits him like it's tailor made for him. From the image itself, it perfectly described him - the eyeglasses that he wears, the coffee that he drinks, the pen that he uses for his writings and the books that are his constant companion. And the message spoke so much of him. Yes, he is such a wonderful man not only in words but in deeds. A man full of love to give and share. A very selfless man and the man who gives my life color... (",) Happy father's day again, Honey! Love lots!

Think Ahead Now

Tuesday, June 22, 2010
The last two months have been a time of sadness because three family friends passed away, one of which was my godmother. The other two were my mom’s close friends, and they all died of the same illness – that dreaded killer disease Cancer. And sadly, my fiancé recently had a great loss when his beloved mother died after a short but courageous end-of-life battle with what await us all: old age. Yes, it has been terribly sad but such is life, for death is a part of it.

We never really know what the future holds and that is why it is always necessary to be prepared for the unknown that await us. But death is a known entity and we certainly don’t want our family to have problems in regard to funeral costs. It would be a big dilemma for them to make such hard decisions at such a trying time. Gladly, our friends’ families never had problems in regard to the funeral cover for they were prepared. The funerals went smoothly and the family didn't have financial worries to compound the deep heartache and grief they were already dealing with.

I do admire people who think of their family first and foremost – thinking of the future life their loved ones will have when they've departed on that final journey. My fiancé is one such individual; he is well prepared with funeral and accident cover, etc. And his mother had given a great deal of forethought to her situation for she did not want her children to be burdened with any financial responsibility for her final disposition, and her funeral created no out-of-pocket costs for her survivors which was of great benefit to them.

What about you? Have you given thought to that time? I know it's not an easy or pleasant thing to think of, but it's the right thing to do. If not, then do it now before it’s too late. Check on an aussie life plan now and leave one final gift for those you love.

My Mind is on the Bahamas Resorts

“It was a blast!” That was what my friend from Florida exclaimed after arriving back from a two week vacation in the Bahamas. She traveled with her family and it was indeed a blast based on the pictures that I saw. The place was just awesome! But that is not surprising at all for the Bahamas is definitely known for offering the best resorts in the world. I do wonder when I will be able to see the place and embrace the beauty of the Bahamas? Experiencing even just a day of fun and excitement at one of those Bahamas resorts is absolutely on top of my vacation list and that is what my fiancé and I have in common: having a Bahamas all inclusive vacation is his dream too. We are both beach lovers and frolicking in the sand and basking under the heat of the sun are just some of the many things that we both love to do whenever we’re at the beach. We both have not been to the beach as of late though because our hectic schedules simply haven’t allow us to, but we will get with it and get it done one of these days without a doubt. But for certain, it will not be just yet for it definitely needs serious planning, not to mention financial budgeting too. But it won’t hurt if I look for the best deals this early, so I'll get moving and check on the Bahamas all inclusive resorts and see which would be the best resort to go to and have our dream vacation come to be. Simply thinking about this already makes me giddy with excitement, and I can’t wait for that moment when this dream of ours will happen.

More of My Li'l Critter Buddies

Minnie and Max , Lazing Away

Though I live in a suburban community, I'm fortunate to own a sizeable piece of land off the beaten path, secluded and peaceful. And though not surrounded by neighbors, I do have a lot of friends around such as squirrels; rabbits; possums and raccoons; hundreds of birds; an occasional fox strolling through; and I even have a pair of peregrine falcons, magnificant creatures of the air, who've taken up nearby roost. But I have two special critters that I hold very dearly to my heart, Minnie and Max; groundhogs, or woodchucks.

These guys have been around for almost thirty years. Well, not these actual ones, but undoubtably several generations of the same family have made this place their home, and this pair took up residence under my storage building, which is of no problem to me. Most people consider these animals pests, but not I. I love all living creatures and the one thing I do not allow on my property is hunting; no guns allowed!

I lovinly dubbed them Minnine and Max the Munchers because they sure do love to munch on my grass. Too bad I don't have an entire herd of 'em to keep the grass munched down so I wouldn't have to mow so much.

I was lucky to even get this pic of them; they are very shy and skittish and will run at the least sound. At that, they were gone in a heartbeat as soon as they heard the click of the camera. To look so large and lumbering, with such short legs, they sure can skedaddle fast! And that's too bad because if I could ever get close enough to them, I might be able to get an answer to that eternal riddle so may have asked: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Oh well; maybe someday.....(",)

He Can't Keep His Mouth Shut! (“,)

Sunday, June 20, 2010
One of the many traits that is amusing about my fiancé is his being so excited that he can’t keep a secret. He has keep mum about some surprises but mostly he messes up. LOL. And the latest? His plan of buying me a cell phone when I’m finally with him in the U.S. He could have kept the model a secret but he didn’t. He came right out and said it out loud, and guess what will I get? An iphone plus iphone accessories. It surprised me when I heard that and I was really jumping for joy. Well, who wouldn’t? It’s everyone’s dream phone and I can’t wait to get hold of it.

He's Thinking Positive

Friday, June 18, 2010
I know there is no certainty yet about the processing of our documents and whether we will be denied or approved (though we’re really praying hard for the latter). But regardless, my fiancé already has a lot of plans for us, mostly of which are travel and vacation plans. First off, he’d bring me to one of his most favorite cities, New York, the Big Apple. Later on, we would watch a baseball game of his favorite team, the Braves in Atlanta. We’d visit his friends in Washington D.C., visit Florida for my son to see Disneyland, and being the music lover he's spoke of getting some Branson tickets for a musical show in Branson, Missouri.

Ahhh, isn’t just that sweet? Thinking about it makes me wish I could fly and be with him this very minute. But I need to be patient, I know. Patience is a virtue after all.

Lovely Bonsai Plants

Thursday, June 17, 2010
These bonsai plants remind me of a lot of things because the place where these plants were located was the place my fiance' and I first visited when he had his 16 day vacation here in our country. And the place mesmerized him. Aside from the beautiful plants that surrounded the place like these bonsai plants here, the place is situated on top of a hill and it is overlooking Sarangani Bay. I do like the place a lot too and that's why I took him there first and I was right, he loved it too.

The plants had been there for years. Lovely!

And they are expensive! I do wonder if I can afford to buy one. LOL.

The Joys of Big Boys and their "Toys"

Tuesday, June 15, 2010
I must admit, sometimes I don’t understand what makes men get so into cars. They spend amazing amounts on accessories like my brother who spent a fortune on mazda accessories for his Mazda pick-up. But nevertheless, even though I have difficulty understanding why they spend so much on what they call their “toy”, I do admire the outcome for the finished product is always fantastic. I guess that’s the reason why they spent so much.

Almost every car that I see running on the road now has special accessories and I do believe the accessories tell a lot about the owner’s personality. It could be the simplest volkswagen accessories or elegant mercedes accessories but, regardless, it says "this is my car and this is who I am". I will say that some do go overboard in accessorizing so much that it doesn’t look good; it can actually look tacky. But if that’s their preference and what makes them happy, then so be it; it’s their car and not my place to judge.

Finances play an integral part since you can’t possibly start such an endeavor without money. As the old adage says, you have to spend money to make money. It Won't Be Long, I Hope I Hope!

Friday, June 11, 2010
God willing and if the processing of my papers fall into place the way we hope, I will tie the knot for the second time in my life this year to my loving fiancé. Thinking about it really makes me giddy even though I know how stressful wedding preparations can be. I definitely know for I was totally hands-on with my first wedding to my late husband. Gladly, my best friend was my maid of honor and she supported and helped me through the entire journey.

Everything may not be sure yet if the wedding with my fiancé will happen this year but I’m already starting to check for wedding invitations. That’s how excited I am. Not only that, I’ve been browsing for bridal gowns, wedding favors, wedding cakes, etc. Just like my first wedding, I want the second one to be as special as it can be and planning the details myself gives me fulfillment, joy and assurance that it will be just what I want it to be, a memorable experience for not only me and my new hubby to be, but also for all our friends and family.

Sweet Surprise from Across the Miles

Wednesday, June 2, 2010
There was no special occasion whatsoever so the arrival of this e-card in my inbox was such a nice surprise. That is how sweet my fiance' is - unpredictably sweet, if I may say so. And as per him, he need not say more for the card says it all. But the card came with a sweet note too. Isn't life just great especially if there's someone who loves you unconditionally and wholeheartedly? (",)

Simply sweet!
