We’re So Picky

Tuesday, February 21, 2012
Believe it or not, it’s been months that we’ve been checking for new curtains for the living room to no avail. It’s either we saw some that we liked but there was none in stock, or the design was nice but the fabric wasn’t and vice versa. We’ve checked all the stores that we can think of but nada.

You may think of us being picky but we just want the best that will match the colors in our living room. Our next recourse was to browse online. We did see a lot of nice designs like that at p kaufmann, but we are not sure if the fabric is something that we will like. We always prefer to feel it. We hope the stores here will have new stock in the coming weeks. So, we just have to wait and see.

Mount Pisgah Trail

Still talking about our trip to Blue Ridge Parkway here. A lot of hikers and thrill seekers explore the mountains in the summer and I guess, in the early fall too. I haven't tried hiking in the forest and I actually don't see myself doing it. I don't have the stamina. But I do believe that there are a lot of beautiful things out there that are waiting to be seen. I will content myself with the photos. Easier for me to do. Hehe.

The trail sign.

And the trail. That's my son checking it out while holding his sword and shield. He's ready to attack. LOL.

He’s a Budding Athlete

I was never into sports; that’s why I was surprised when my 8-year-old son showed interest in sports. And I was happy about that because to be a sport-minded individual is one of the things that I want him to be.

Among all the sports, it is baseball and soccer that he really wants to participate in. He still hasn’t started yet though because of the many things that we need to do to make it possible. But once we’re settled, I will for sure support him in that aspect and hopefully he will fill our house with sport trophies. That would really be great!

Spring is Lurking Around the Corner

Wednesday, February 15, 2012
After a weekend of bitterly cold weather, we are having a glorious day today and I think it will be like this until the weekend. It is still winter, but our temperatures had been very mild the entire season. And I do wonder what spring will bring. It is the tornado season and I am hoping it will not be as bad as last year.

I am already kind of scared as early as now just thinking about it. Last year was my first experience of spring and we had tornado watches for weeks. The gusty winds were scary and I felt like any tree surrounding our house could be uprooted any minute. Gladly, it didn’t happen.

Oh well, I think it is too early for me to worry about it. I might as well continue my reading about credit card factoring and I will just cross that bridge after spring arrives.

Do Dreams Really Come True? You Better Believe They Do!

Sunday, February 5, 2012

It's been quite some time since I've been here with words to share. But I've been an extremely busy boy. Actually, I've been running full tilt now for the past three years, chasing that elusive dream I'd so long been in search of, courting and wooing and winning the heart on an Anghel who lived half-a-world away from me. But yes, I can truly say now that dreams really do come to be reality. And on this day, 5-February 2012, I celebrate a dream come true, the first anniversary of my marriage to the founder of this blog, Lynndee. Getting to this day has been an exciting odyssey, a journey of thousands of miles over many roads, sweet and beautiful as well as bumpy and dusty. The most wonderful part of it all, though, has been that she has been with me every mile, every step of the way, sharing the joy, beauty and mystery of a love so rare. With that being so, I want to share with her, and the rest of the world, some simple words to express my love for the lady who is now my wife as we begin our second year of a journey to forever, together. Happy Anniversary, Anghel Lynndee. Thank you for being my companion on this magical trip This one's for you...(",)

ODE TO AN ANGHEL

Little ever could I see
That thousands of miles across the sea
There was a lady in waiting for me

A beautiful Anghel, o' so fair
With an elegance, o' so rare
One half of the whole that makes a pair

Fate be so fickle, time so slow
The years passed by, I didn't know
Until the moment arrived for me to go

On to westward, into the sun
One last chance to find the one
Who'd travel with me till times are done

We'd both waited, o' so long
Feeling all chance was gone
To find the one to complete our song

But now we're united, as one, in love
So gentle and peaceful, as a dove
A blessed gift from the Almighty above
.
